Services
My goal is simple, to provide you with the best possible service for you and your horse. Your horse is my top priority and giving you quality service goes hand in hand with that as far as I'm concerned.
So it is my intention, as a Professional Hoofcare Practitioner, to provide my clients with punctual appointments, return phone calls in a timely manner, and arrive with a professional attitude. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and it makes my job more satisfying when you and your horse are satisfied with the job I have completed.
I have extensive experience in treating horses with pathological issues such as thrush, fungal infections in the hoof wall (WLD), navicular, laminitis and founder. In fact, I enjoy these sort of cases the most and I will be honest, if I do not know the answer or have not seen a particular case, you will be the first to know, but I have many resources to acquire the knowledge to help facilitate a treatments well as confer with your vet on which direction and treatment needed.
I use traditional tools but also enjoy the ease of power tools, i.e. an angle grinder, and for those that would accept me using one on their horse, particularly draft breeds, I think you will find it gives the same, if not better results.
Please contact me to discuss your particular case. My set up rate (first trim) is $45.00 which includes removal of shoes (if any), mapping the hoof and assessing what direction we need to go. My normal average rate is $35.00 per horse. Draft horses are a bit more and minis are a bit less. If you have six or more horses we can discuss a multiple discount if you wish.
In order to protect my health and safety, any horse that kicks, strikes or bites with intent to harm will be denied service immediately. Barefoot Equine reserves the right to deny service to any horse that is perceived as a threat. I know this may sound a bit harsh but I am not a trainer and am not in the business to get injured. Horses are very strong and unpredictable animals, as we all know, and I will make the determination if I am unable to work with the animal or I will assess an extra cost to work with any horse I deem to be an issue.
I travel all over the north Texas and Dallas area. If you are out of a 50 mile radius of my residence then I do charge a travel fee. If I can't get to you in a specific area, I can refer other practitioners to you depending where you are located.
If your horse needs boots, I can fit boots to them. Boots are a great way to transition a horse from shod to barefoot. I am also skilled in applying hoof casting which, for horses that would need boots 24/7, would work much better, in my opinion. The hoof casting materials I use allow the hoof to flex and grow while giving protection to sensitive tissues. It has many uses, especially for horses with pathological issues.
I am now a Renegade Hoof Boot dealer so you can purchase all your Renegades boots and parts from me.
